Seat belts missing...

02 dudes:

My '71 02 does not have any seatbelts.

The ppo redid the interior (new carpets and aftermarket seats) and never put the belts back in.

The po had bought later style belts (320?), but never had them put in.

I need to get these belts in, so I can drive it legally in WI and so I can take my 8 year old son for a drive!

Has anyone had this done? How much did it cost you? Has anyone put these later style belts in their 2002 themselves?

Thanks!

Andy...

Your '71 had a stock 3-point system, right? All 2002s that I've seen, even the early ones, have 3 belt bolt points, and your 320 belts should bolt right in. If the PO didn't cut holes in the carpet, you're going to have to do some probing to find the mount points.

tray. if you put in the 320 belts you will need to attach to the B pillar. which will require some minimal welding. HTH

Places like Maximillian, CNPR, etc have 'em.

As they say, you can't put a price on safety. Althopugh I routinely do.

....because you don't have the right mounting points. I did a FAQ on this board about retro-fitting apres 72 belts in pre 72 cars. It is somewhat involved but well worth it in the long run. And seeing as I'm in the neighborhood I'de be happy to lend assistance:). Check it out.
