wheel paint

I have flat black steelies on my car now. Until I get alloys, I figured I'd paint them silver.

I see Hammerite is recommended - I recall seeing it in Home Depot but doesn't it have a texture to it, of some sort?

I could just go get Krylon too, I suppose.

Thanks,

Dave

Hammerite sells a paint called "smooth aluminum" that looks nice and sprays great. Krylon sells a paint called "dull aluminum" that supposed to be very close in color to the original factory silver paint.

Wurth makes the best (amd most expensive)OEM BMW silver wheel paint, but if it is temporary, any "dull aluminum" will look good i.e.Krylon, Plasti-kote. Sometimes called bumper paint.

for wheels and they have a clear coat too. Not cheap, but good stuff.

....probably made by Wurth - but has nice BMW emblems on the label - and the PERFECT silver for steel or aluminum wheels.

Cheaper than Wurth, too - at $11.00 per can. Easy to spray, goes on almost ANYTHING - ie: minimal prep required! (intake manifolds, fasteners, voltage regulators, hood support rods....) if it ain't satin black....I've painted it silver with this stuff!
