CD, with all respect, why do you believe other products are a waste of money? Tom R from 02Again has a dyno run that demonstrates the performance improvement of his header over the tii manifold. Ireland's products are excellent build quality with hundreds of satisfied customers (including myself).

I listen very carefully to all your advice on maintenance because of your experience. But statements like this without substantiation are not helpful. Have you done tests to substantiate your claim that "others are a waste of money"?

don't take it from me - read the last few years wurth of

threads here relating to "EXHAUST MANIFOLDS"

and you decide where you would spend money.

What will perform, last, not rust, not crack, not fall off,

not become loose every 3-months, not hit the body, not

drag on the ground, align and fit correctly ?

I have looked, talked, read, heard more than a few 02's

The poster sought advice about the performance advantages of two types of exhaust systems. The fact that you like the look of one over the other is meaningless. At this rate, why don't you take a picture of the system you wish you had, enlarge it and mount it over your steering box. Your car may run better.

Wow! What a pointless and quite unfair comment to make. Just as CD stated earlier, this is a discussion forum. Bingbong is entitled to express an opinion just as you are but to be fair, at least his referenced the headers unlike yours which was pretty much a pointless attack on a pleasant and active member of the forum.

To conclude, if you haven't got anything nice to say....

How is your gripe any different than mine? As Henri and CD both explained, this is an issue that has been addressed many times with little consensus. The fact that BingBong liked the look of something is no more on point than my exclaiming that I like vanilla ice cream. Obviously, there are many opinions out there, including yours, mine and BingBing's. Offering an opinion without any underlying support for the opinion is hardly a meaningful exchange of ideas.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
