distributor size and motor fit question

Got another question for y'all. Since I only have my car available to compare and it's the first '02 I've owned, it's hard to sometimes know what normal and what's not.

I've noticed in pics of other's cars, there seems to be room from the top of the distributor cap to to sheet metal above. On my car, there's barely any room to get the cap on the distributor. In fact, the sheet metal has actually been bent upwards to give it room. That suggests to me that the engine, at least on that side, is higher that it should be.

First question, are all Bosch distributors the same height? The car has an 08 Bosch mechanical distributor, which originally was for a VW. Could this be taller and why it's crowding the top?

If not, what else could be the cause? Bad or wrong motor mounts installed? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing your motor mounts are either installed wrong or something is up with your subframe.

Wonder if the driver's side mount is long gone, canting the PS upward.

Does your exhaust hit the floor on the PS?

What about your tranny mount? If that is too high, the rear of the engine could be tilted upward.

YES, the cap is removed off to one side - not straight up.

Actually- if your trans mount is bent DOWN

you run out of room for the dizzy.

Unlikely, though. It's close, but

doesn't hit anything. Pictures, of course, are

priceless, which is why I don't have any...
