Michael, you certainly have a great car there, sorry I think to see you sell it. I know over the years I have parted with a number of things with the benefit of hindsight I wish I hadn't (what comes to mind first is a NOS Schnitzer head kit I sent off to Norway). Given the current "market" and what is likely to be a dismal market after the election (sorry to say) I hope you find a buyer for your car - although I am guessing you don't "need" to sell it, so that if someone doesn't come up with the number you want....no harm, no foul. You might give a ring to Canepa Design and see if they have any interest. What a dynamite combo that would make - the '73 Alpina CSL and your '72 tii Alpina......would be a great package deal for an "ALPINA" collector. With that said and now that I think about it I would like to have BOTH to keep my ALPINA race car company - never a better time to start playing the LOTTO again.

Good luck with the sale! My mouth drops every time I see that car- its simply one of the finest and most sorted 02's ive seen. The stance is perfect, the color is fantastic and striking. Like everyone else- I blame the lottery for never picking the correct numbers...mine!

So bucchus is gone, the e36 is gone (or pending), the alpina is going...whats next?? Making room for a porsche?

I have to email you sometime-- I might need some help/advice on some bodywork on the mini :)

Wow! I never thought I’d see the day that Michael put his ‘One of Three’ Alpina car up for sale. To anyone interested: The seller is a pillar of the Nor Cal vintage BMW community and is as genuine and honest and enthusiast as you will find anywhere. I don’t think there is anyone in the ‘02 world who doubts that this is indeed the real deal. And yes it has been featured in several books and magazines over the years. Best of luck with the sale, Michael!

i think this was sold last year because ive been crying myself to sleep for quite some time now.

It sold last November, and now it resides in Roanoke, VA. I got to drive it again for about 10 minutes during this year's Vintage at the Vineyards, in NC. I was his guest for 4 days during the show, and I can say that the Alpina is in very good hands.
