I bought the alternator and extension arm in this post from DaveDel82:

Communication was good and the transaction was smooth. Took about a week for the alternator to arrive from Connecticut to California. I would buy from Dave again based on this experience and how easily we were able to agree on reasonable terms.

Martin Cassidy (don't care to look up username) strung me along for over a month with visions of cool parts and a ship date. I bought some windows from him. Kept promising me he would ship them then lost all communication. I had to open claim with paypal. Not happy was a waste of my time. Don't know if anyone has had a different experience with him? Or similar?

James Villian is a SCAMMER!!! Please don't send him any money. We can't seem to find the ad anymore we think it was a craigslist ad. He's located somewhere up north in Oregon or Washington somewhere. Mentioned he is a friend of Brian Capp (Not saying anything about Brian just want you to have the most info on this James character). Anyways, ad stated he had parts and had BMW tools as well for sale. Paid w/ PayPal to his then GF, James later stated the tools were broken and that he would issue a refund but when we called his number back it had been disconnected. Anyways now have to go through paypal to get our money back from this lady who has no idea what is going on. BUYER BEWARE.

I was rather reluctant  at first to comment on a recent exchange  with a member of the forum but in light of  of the recent responses to "752002" classified post I wish to add to what seems to be a growing list of members frustrations with this individual. Fortunately I decided not to deal with him much in part because of the tone of his message.

As mentioned I was prepared to give this guy the benefit of the doubt, but it would seem I was part of a pattern rather than a one off or a bad day experienced by the seller. In my case,  I asked three times to provide pics of a part I was looking to buy. After that third attempt to get the information I rec'd this  PM from him.

"I apologize if I haven't been getting back to you. 2002faq isn't my full time job. As well as being sick these past couple of days, which has caused further delays. Also I have some other current "paid" transactions I need to fill before I can get to you. If I do send you the pic, take your money and can't get it to you in your desired time what good does that do, besides you writing negative comments. Furthermore I am parting a car in NYC, which is cold weather. Anyone should feel lucky they are even able to get a part during this time of the year. I think if someone doesn't respond maybe post in the parts wanted section or wait for another for sale ad. If you are still interested I can try to get you the wiper linkage motor pics. I am asking $150 for it. Thanks"

So I write this in support of the members who appear to have been stiffed  by  someone far less than credible  than the vast majority of enthusiasts who frequent this forum .

Shout outs to 02tradition and lajolla1963. Helpful, honest sellers.

If you're on the West Coast, Pelican Parts is awesome. Paid for 2/3 day shipping and parts arrived in less than 24 hours.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
