I bought my car two weeks ago from the original owner, Pat(ricia-I persume) ordered the car in 1971 from California and traveled to Munich Germany to get her car, Ginger, as this Ma1971 BMW 2002 is known, was driven around Europe on a trip and then was shipped back to California where it spend over 40 years in the Bay Area.

When talking to the owner I found out her Ex-husband has owned a 57' Bel Air which he bought in High School, the 02 sat safely parked in a garage while Pat's husband's Bel Air sat outside in the elements.

I was extremly lucky to find an all original car with matching numbers from the original owner. Ginger still has her blue and yellow plates as well as pretty interesting factory parts still attached ( air/smog pump, blaupunk(non-factory but period)

Just purchased a set of lug nuts from Cris Padagas (cj on this board) and the experience was very satisfying. The lugs are beautiful, the transaction was very smooth, shipping from him was as soon as I PayPal-ed him, and, all-in-all, a very good guy to deal with.

I purchased a 5 speed transmission from Julio in Silicon Valley. Julio described the transmission to me over the phone and then brought it to me at the Brisbane car show. Everything he said about the transmission was right on. The transmission doesn't whine, grind or pop out of gear - just as he described it. Julio is a good guy to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate buying anything from him in the future. One last thing, he also told me if there was anything wrong with the transmission he would take it back and return my money. In this case, that wasn't necessary.

I've had nothing but great experiences with BLUNT, bluedevels, eurotrash, Torress, La Jolla, and several of the other usual suspects.

However, I just got sniped on a priced listing by Themis in Portland. The seller, evargas163 in Temecula honored the snipe even though my offer was first and full price, and I provided contact info.

Just didn't think that's the way we did things here.

My two cents...

The Feedback thread should be a forum on its own. Each thread in the forum would be specific to each Seller/Buyer and would be more useful and searchable. As this thread grows, imagine finding someone in 20 pages of posts.

Just sayin'...

Kudos to Jason Gipson (AKA: eurotrash) for selling me a lovely set of late-style alloy wheels at a fair price. He is very straightforward and fair minded. I believe that he is going to become a big seller on this site - which is a good thing. Good luck, Jason.

Esty, I just opened the box of rear panels you have sent me. I'm speechless! I didn't expect it to be this nice seriously. The panels you made are fit for a show car and mine is not. Absolute amazing craftsmanship.

I will be posting pictures soon. Thank you again.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
