Hi All

Anybody know how or where to fix the Speedometer (Miles is NOT working) in the Bay Area, I found one and is $100.00, looking to spend less.

Just took mine into North Hollowood Speedometer for a full rebuild. Only issue is it's costing $140 but it will be like new.

problem is usually a small plastic drive gear that has either broken (cracked) or is slipping on its shaft.

Easy fix is to glue gear to shaft with superglue. This may hold for a week, forever or not at all, but it's the easiest thing to try.

Replacement gears are available--check archives for complete instructions on replacing...do it yourself for a lot less than $100.

Assuming its your odometer that's quit, I had (note past tense!) same problem last week - solved it with Curt's solution (the first link shown) and it was actually fun to do! Hint: before putting speedo back in the dash, test the odometer with your electric drill and a small square bit which fits into the speedo drive - I "drove" over a mile with my drill!
