Is there a plug that goes in the rectangle hole?????

I read on here a few years back that there is no official BMW plug. That would explain why its not listed as one of the parts for the pedal box.

You could weld on a sheet metal patch. I am not a welder so I used MAGNUM STEEL its like a clay. Once you smash it together you can mold it. It hardens in a few minutes. I made a rectangle plug and covered the hole. Once it hardened I painted it black.

CORRECT - there isn't a 'plug' covering that oval hole.

The rubber muff covers it on the outside - which also holds

salty road moisture in there to help the box to desolve

over time. Remove the muff and see daylight .

Your solution is good.

A through cleaning out of the box from the slots cut in

the carpet, and working heavy oil into the pedal

piviots is good to do once a year.
