I'm getting alot of thumping sounds from the passenger rear area. Could anyone tell me where and what to begin looking for to remedy this problem? Thanks in advance!

you may have a loose upper shock mount. If not...

there are lotsa things it could be from loose rear subframe mounts to the exhaust system hitting the body, subframe or the diff, or even a loose spare tire/wheel.

I found my thumping (loose shock mounts) by having a friend drive (slowly!) around the neighborhood while I sat in the trunk with an assortment of wrenches. Got a lot of strange looks, but found the noise!

WHEN does it Thump ?

at a constant speed - over bumps?

only on acceleration ?

only on up-shifts ?

cornering ?

on straights ?

are you driving ( shifting) smoothly ? or like the car belongs to

your red-headed sister ?

Have you checked your halfshafts? Bolts on mine backed out recently (mechanic forgot to properly torque them) and I had thumping out of them until I got torqued back up.
