Hello, just a technical question, can the ignition be triggered from the crankshaft , eliminating the distributor, and 2nd is the distributor turning at the tachometer RPM or half the speed, in other words at 2000 rpms what is the rotor turning.

For crank fire ignition search for EDIS - lots of info.

Dizzy spins at 1/2 speed (2 crank revolutions for 1 dizzy revolution).

Yes it can. I have been running crankfire ignition for about 5 years now. I run an Electromotive unit the HPV-1. It is no longer made, but they do make a newer version. In addition, to what was stated above, the EDIS conversion uses stock parts from some Ford vehicles. It takes a bit of fabrication, but can be done easily.
