Funny, I now have a 76 auto with no carpet! But I am sure Esty can make a nice one for me any time.. I bought that carpet from a local dude who had bunch of nice stuff. I was going to convert it to a stick carpet. You know how that goes. It came from 76 a car with low very low mileage, engine blew and he stored the whole car for decades. Still possible to find some deals if you are lucky. Did you get the AFG parts? Should be there soon if not already.

wow, the car has now complete rear end and all brake lines are there...

I didnt dicked there, i spend a lot of time routing them the best i could. It looks factory to me altough it is not 100% perfect...hey, i am not german nutty engineer after all..

also detail of the necesary modification so i can use original 02 handbrake cables altough there is larger back plates at the rear (E21), i notched the flat piece that goes in between the shoes of about 3/16.

Also detail of my 4,99$ sway bar link kit...

next to do:

-half shafts

-driveshaft

-transmission

-engine

-remains of the front end.

Still need to buy/refurbish: front calipers.

I finaly finished the brakes on the front wheels...i spent like 2 hours bending the pipes so they will look not dicked.

I am ready to reinstal the transmission as well.

i cleaned it and replaced some nuts on it.

i also changed a bit the shifting rod, i installed at both ends some nylon bushings, there was some play. Now it is smooth as butter. There is no play at all.

I hate flimsy shifters...even if its automatic !!

-head fully rebuilded+slightly ported

Other than that its a full stock M10 with 74' spec e12 head and 8.3:1 compression ratio with low piano tops pistons, just period correct for the car.

All castings i used are from the original engine with 74' cast dates on them.

Engine is in !!!

It went in super easy.

I had to get the engine out of the home basement and get it to the garage with my bare arms...this is supposed to weight at 304lbs ??

Well, i did it...

No bling here, just clean and nice. i am taking a lot of care to reinstal all the braketery and clips like it should.

There is still some details that i am not happy with, but one day brought me there, not pictured, the carb and exhaust manifold are there as well...

the car moves by itself as well. This engine just purrrrs like a kitten.

i managed to make some runs in my driveway with just the handbrake...

it feels so smooooooth !!!

Hi gring, yes it was supposed but once i saw several other sahara cars i decided to leave it that way, ie , its original color.

yes, but i think there was someone else car on the forum who was closer within 100 iirc. was sahara too but manual. it was it CA, funny that two cars with very close vin are so far apart.
