Bay Area 02 Swap & Show 7 -- I'm going

Recommended Posts

So I"m planning on showing up for that one. see

Going down south to visit my bro in sf that weekend.

Thinking about putting my nasty rusty assed tii on the lawn as kind of a joke.. anyone else going?

Anyone else want to put some rusty primered 2002's on the lawn and pretend they look good? I think it would be a hoot

Probably going to drive down i5 on thursday -- hangout with some friends in Medford and then make it in to SF on friday. Then hit the show on saturday, hangout for a day and go back up 101 into Oregon on monday.

woot!

Rusty assed and garage queens are both welcome.

I actually prefer the rusty assed 02 as it probably "GETS DRIVEN".

Don't think I can make the lawn party this year, but I'm still shooting for the BBQ.

It's my first year and I look forward in seeing you all there. I can't believe I put in almost 20k on my car in less than a year.

I'm registered and paid, first one as well.

Even the wife is going to this one and I can't hardly get her to go to any car function.

this usually turns out one of the more expansive car events you and your significant other can visit. Stanford Shopping Mall is right across the street!!!

My wife attended PA one year.

It cost me $250 for the chair, $30 for gas, and $80 for dinner for my buddy to bring his truck over to pick up the damn thing. But what the hell, the cat loves sleeping on it.

On the upside, I think once she found the chair she didn't even go into Bloomies. Dodged that bullet.

up in the air right now... =|

I'm moving on or about the 14th of May to Nevada. Unless this other potential job offer materializes... But I really don't want to move to New York. =[

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
