Electric or manual. mostly stock engine. If electric. what pressure?

Electric pumps are for EFI or dual side-draft carbs only (usually). If you insist on running an electric you must get a low pressure unit. They are usually a PITA to install and they are loud if not mounted properly. You'll have to plumb in wiring, fuel filters, etc. as they like to be in the rear rather than in the engine bay.

Much better to stick with a factory mechanical unit than to go with a aftermarket electric IMO.

I have a standard Weber 32/36, manual choke--when I first installed it (in 1979!) I was told that the mechanical fuel pump's 3-4 psi was a little too much for a Weber, that 2 psi was more like it.

I bought a small adjustable pressure regulator and installed it between the fuel pump and carb--made a little bracket to support it so as not to put a strain on the fuel pump output and carb inlet nipples. Side load these nipples and over time they'll pull out of their diecast housings...with disastrous results. The bracket bolts to a convenient 6mm threaded hole in the manifold.

Works just fine--I turned the pressure down to 1.75 psi to try and eliminate some surging that I was told might be caused by excessive fuel pressure. The surging stopped.

The validity of the above--I dunno. But...it works for me.

cheers
