Carpet kits

I talked to my uncle last night, he has a interior business in Portland, Ore. called Guy's Interiors (shameless plug). He said thet he buys his carpet kits for our cars from a place in N. Hollywood called GAHH. I checked it out, they are almost $700 but I trust him implicitly (he has had many cars win concours events) and will be going with their kit. He also told me that there is another company that sells the same product as Dynamat at half the cost, when he e-mails me the details I will let you know.

Cheers

I just installed some of the cheaper Dynamat type product called "B-Quiet". I installed it under my hood and its doing pretty well so far. To me it appears to be the same material just unmarked (no writing on the silver part). I have only seen it on eBay (thats where I got it).

I'm using a product called "FatMat" in my car. If its good enough for Stella of my2002tii.com fame, its good enough for Phoenix!

I bought 2 huge rolls off eBay for around $85, if i recall. So far, one roll down and i'm nearly 75% done with my interior (and thats with donating about 6 feet of the roll to another FAQ-er!)

I installed car stereos for 4 1/2 years, to pay my way through college. The Fatmat stuff is notably slimmer than the Dynamat X-treme, but about the same thickness as standard Dynamat. With X-Treme, the adhesive is so strong, you don't need a heat gun, but i'd definately recommend it with the FatMat. I've used a heat gun, let it cure overnight, and tried to rip it off the next morning, and you have to get some serious pull behind it to even get the corners to come loose.

Its got my seal of approval.
