What is a good tire size for 13x7 wheels?

I don't know about the fit, but your speedometer will be about 10% off with that size, so you'll want to keep that in mind. The tire will be smaller in diameter than the stock size, and when you speedometer reads 60mph, you'll actually be going about 53mph. Roughly. :)

A 225/55 would be a lot closer, but I don't know what (if anything) is available in that size...

im looking at 225 45s. Any thoughts? Should I go wider? Taller?

I believe that the standard E21 turbine wheel came with 185 75R13 tires.

You'd have to be careful that going down to a 45 series tire will decrease your circumfrence and therefore throw off your speedo. There's a tire calculator on the FAQ and other places - try finding something that will fit the car and keep the same circumfrence so your speedo remains accurate.

i run 215/45/r13 kumho v710 on 13x7.5 wheel.

225/45R13 and 225/50R13 Hoosier tires also fit on 13x7.5 but they have provisions for narrower wheel.

you might have to sacrifice tire pressure for wider patch if you are running too narrow of a wheel.

look at the specs of the tire manufacturer for their wheel size recommendation.

I'll sell them to you if you want. Shipping would be brutal. After thinking about it - im not sure i want to run flares. Will these fit under without flares???

Buy DAPBMW's flares off the FAQ store - they are badass and not too much like the turbo ones IMO. Just enough for you to shove something nice under there.

tires were sourced from germany. avon also makes this size tires but none are available in the us or canada. on a 13 x 7 you have at least a few sizes from sumitomo, micket thompson, bfg, firestone, falken and hercules

Flares would take away the element of surprise.

On the other hand my POS doesn't need to be cut prior to installing the flares as I'm just letting the rust do the work for me. I'll have flares on the scariest looking POS 2002 around!
