1. Is it pushing or sucking? Electric pumps do MUCH better pushing, so it should be mounted near the fuel tank, not in the engine compartment.

2. Have you checked your fuel filter(s)--in the tank (bottom of the fuel pickup), in line (usually just upstream of the carb) and the filter screen int he carb inlet? A clogged filter won't allow much gas to pass (so to speak.)

3. Unless you're running dual sidedrafts, the OEM mechanical pump provides more than adequate fuel flow for a carb; you might consider going back to that vs the unnecessary complexity of an electric pump.

cheers

PLEASE GO back TO MECHANICAL

FUEL PUMP - BOLTS RIght on the motor, no wires, no crap-out - last 28 years, no noise, correct volume and pressure with no regulators, no additional holes drilled in your already cheesy body, and every next owner will know what is needed IF the pump should ever fail in the future.

If you need a new one and used is OK ToddK can probably sell you one we just took out of a parts car. Email him - kishbach at adelphia dot net the fuel pump came out of a 75 car with dual 45 webers. it was setup to be mounted in the trunk. It was a little noisy but that's because it was directly mounted metal to metal. If you used proper mounting hardware it would be completely silent.
