What are suggestions for a good vinyl dye for seats and door panels. I have blue door panels and want them to be black. I have black seats, but they need to be refreshed a little. I don't want to get a cheap dye that will come off on clothing, but don't have the cash to get everything re-upholstered.

You might check Eastwood, as I remember that they have a vinyl specific spray paint. The secret is in the preparation, so follow instructions carefully. The surface must be grease and oil free. Apply it lightly and expect that you may have to freshen it up again every couple of years.

i have used almost every available brand of vinyl dye from off the shelf brands to custom mixed dupont and if the material is properly prep'd....the only difference you'll know is the price and packaging

if you can find the color you like in off the shelf dupli-color, it's as good as SEM or any other that you'll pay 4 times the amount for

SEM, has by far, the best color selection, sells for about $9.00 a spray bomb and can be bought, off the shelf at most, if not all auto paint stores

what was this dyed with...$9.00 dye or $29.00 dye?
