ive read to weld them, but thats alot of welding for such a seeming easy task of closing them up. maybe a few tacks to locate them then a seam sealer? i also thought about maybe glooping them up with jb weld to do a 2-1 kind of deal. anythoughts?

I soaked mine in some citristrip and scraped off all of the old seam sealer, paint and then dealt with the leftover rust... Next I painted them with some por15 and then glued them back in with a bunch of seam sealer.

i removed mine and made new flat circles out of sheet metal and then welded them in. then i seam sealed them. its overkill and if i did it again id just seam seal new pieces in place and forget about them. it will look better from the underside as well

I think those are officially called rust starter hole's. I clean them up with a wire wheel then reseal them with a 3M product called marine adhesive sealant 5200 just ask for 5200 at any marine store or 3M dealer. anything you put together with this stuff will never leak and hold until destruction.

P.S. those holes were used to hold the floor pan pieces in alignment when they are welded to the tunnel and the inner sills as one of the first steps in assembly. they also worked later as drains for the primer dip.

Don't worry about the world ending today,

Hell it's already tomorrow in Australia.

I am in the middle of a sealing project using the 3M Marine Seal, probably at your advice. I just finished the prep work and went to bare metal with a wire brush on a rotary drill. Next I am going to apply POR-15 and primer as needed, then finish of with the marine seal.
