Recaro frame repair

Im thinking of purchasing a pair of reupholstered Recaros, but the seller said that part of the frame (drivers outer lower bolster) would need to be welded.

I don't know the first thing about welding, but I can probably find someone at the university shop to help me.

How big of a pain is it to do something like this? Do I have to tear the whole seat apart? The seats look good, but I am weighing if this is worth the trouble. Thanks.

to tear down and reassemble the upholstery. If you go slowly, you can figure out how to take it apart and reassemble. You might want to get some hog ring pliers to help with the reassembly.

I'd soak all of the bolts with liquid wrench before you dismantle it. There are some weak welded nuts on the frames that are difficult to re-weld.
