There are some very nice analog clocks for the dash on the e30. Fits into the hole for the inevitably non-functional OBC. A lot more useful and attractive. They go for $28 shipped here, I'm guessing they must be substantially cheaper there.

I found some awesome stuff from a place in germany that does restorations of bmws and porsches...they sell a lot on ebay...maybe you could contact them and have your friend drop by and pick something up.

their email is Ikark@gmx.de....they have all kinds of NOS stuff.

and beer bottles) or gels (including jelly--see below) home in your carry on luggage...even stuff you buy at the airport duty free stores have to be transferred to your checked luggage when you pick it up for customs at the US arrival airport.

I had to do that with two (obviously dangerous) jars of mango marmalade I bought at the airport in Managua, Nicaragua last week. At first they weren't gonna let me take it on the plane until I pointed out it was bought in the airport and that was OK per their own sign (in English and Spanish) right there at the checkpoint.

Fortunately the luggage gorillas didn't break the jars whilst banging my suitcase around between Houston and Columbus...
