towing a 2002

You should be fine..you only have to unbolt the driveshaft if the car has an automatic. However, I do recommend towing any car with all four wheels off the ground...no tow dollies....

hey guys, I will be picking up my 73 in around boston next week. Flatbed is not an option. I will be using a t100 and a dolly. I'm in ottawa... Figuring on taking it slow and steady but what should I be looking at doing. This is my first 02. Does the steering lock? Tow it by the rear or forwards? Any input is helpful.. Chris

How would towing be harder on the wheel bearings and drive line than driving? If the tranny is in neutral, how could the clutch be affected? I'm not disagreeing -- just wondering about the explanation.

There are some cars that will be damaged by towing. Those have drive train parts that get cooling or lubrication during driving that doesn't get supplied during towing.

If you use a dolly, definitely put the front wheels on it. If using a flatbed truck or trailer, load with the front of the car forward for best weight distribution.
