Hey Norm-

Can you email me directly? I have a line on a LeMons car for next year and I wanted your veteran opinion. I'm at showymcshow at gmail dot com.

Thanks!

Hey Davin,

I agree that your M20 would make the PERFECT LeMons car!

...but seeing as how I have about half a year's salary into that car I think it's a smidge over budget.

What I ended up finding is an '85ish Toyota MR2 with solid mechanicals and a crappy body. I'm wondering if there are any drawbacks I should be thinking about (besides lousy access to the engine). Would I just get battered around in a car that small? I want something reliable that would be fun on a track for hours on end...

I think an MR2 would be perfect. I would prefer to run something vintage next year, like a Volvo 444 or NSU 1000. There are so many old cars I know about with rotten interiors, dented fenders, and bent bumpers that drive great. Too hard and expensive to restore, but perfect for amature endurance racing.

I would say go vintage
