Cylinder head crack

My 121 cylinder head on my 1972 2002 has a crack. I was wondering if a 121Ti head will work as a direct swap?

IIRC If it has popup pistons, they will create interference with the 121 head. with some maching, , they can be adjusted to fit and give you a higher compression ratio

It will probably cost you less to either have the crack repaired or shop for a replacement E12 head. Post a WTB classified and watch the offers roll in.

A 121 and a 121 tii head are the same except the tii does not have the hole for the manual fuel pump rod. Remember to have the new head pressure tested and surfaced, basicly you will be rebuilding your head. With your head off its time to check the block to make sure the hone is still good. As far as repairing a crack 90% of the time it will recrack right next to teh weld. Remember the aluminum is stressed and is deterorating, also make sure the crack was not caused by overheating due to a bad water pump etc.

Good luck

Dude, "Me", this is the second time I've seen you post. Either register or get lost. I have a feeling you are already registered, so in that case, why don't you use your real I.D. next time, huh?

Interesting that no one actually read your post or answered your question. A 1972 121 head and a 121 Ti head are exactly the same. No difference. If you can get a 121 Ti head in good shape it will be fine for a replacement for a 121 head circa 1972...

I know because I have one of each. Note that there is a 121 Tii head, as noted in another post, so make sure yours is a 121 Ti.
