Console and A/C questions - is there a drain hole?

I moved the fridgeking (sp) A/C thing under my dash. I noticed that there was a half-dollar hole in the sheetmetal behind the console (basically behind the radio. Is this a hole to drain condensation or something? because there is air and noise coming thru it and I would be happy to plug it up.

Second, does anyone have custom colsole ideas for a car WITH A/C/? I wanted to put in a bunch of gauges but it will get crowded....

I have a frigiking AC in my car and the drain holes are located one on each side of the top of the transmission tunnel. I have two small 4 inch or so sections of hose that run from the center console through the holes.
