Does anyone happen to know if the fuel pressure regulator from an E30 325i M20 will fit onto the fuel rail of the 84 E30 318i ? They look the same in the line drawings.

Real OEM for 325i:

question along the same line: if you run an adjustable fuel pressure reg. (like the bav. auto one) do you still need the same BMW pressure regulator up front or can you do away with it? I want to eliminate as many things as possible from under the hood in terms of wires, regulators, etc.

glad to know the M20 one will work!

Just about all regs are set at 3 bar for NA engines. You only need one on the return to the tank and they are a backpressure regulator (holds upstream press at 3bar. Vacuum compensated regs lower the pressure on high vacuum and allow better pulse widths above the dead pw of the injector. If your idle pw is close to 1ms, a vacuum compensated reg will help.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.
