How bad is the damage? If you send pics I may be interested in the whole thing... Is it beyond repair?

If not start posting like I did a few days ago - ask people what they want and be mindful of the factory seams and spot welds. Cut in places where you would patch, look at a really bad rusty car (i looked at my DD) and take note of all the rusted areas - chop those out of your good car.

Again how bad is the shell & if you have pics what will you sell it for?

I would remove some body sections by drilling out the spot welds. It's not that hard really. The front nose should be taken off this way for sure. You could take the entire car apart by drilling out the welds, but it is time consuming, and there is no point if no-one wants some of the pieces. The front frame rails are another one that can easily be taken out by drilling spot welds. Many people want these as they are a high rust item.

There are a few panels that are rather difficult to separate as they are not just simply spot welded, like bottom of A pillar to rockers, and rear quarter section to rocker. I would try and remove the quarter panel by drilling out the spot welds and cutting the rocker panel.

There are some panels/sections that are going to be more useful to a restorer, like the pieces at the bottom of the front and rear windows, as these rust out sometimes.

Remember that original BMW body parts are better than new replacement ones as they are gong to be dimensionally accurate, unlike new replacement pieces.

You might be better off though, just letting someone take the whole shell to pick apart, or restore.
