So what's a good torque wrench to get for under $100? I don't want a Craftsman, their quality has gone down hill as of late.

Also, I need a 36MM impact socket to take the crank pulley off my s14. Any good online retailers to source one from?

It's difficult to get an accurate torque wrench for under $100. I've been very happy with a 1/2" SK torque wrench I bought 5 years ago for about $150. I also recently bought a Craftsman 3/8' that seem nice, even with questionable quality control.

For a 36 mm impact socket try Grainger:

1AW73, 6-point hex, $16.05

If you want a cheap torque wrench get the beam type. the non-click type. They can be had cheap and when the little needle is off just bend it back. They are as accurate as your hand is steady and don't lose their calibration. If you want the sexy clicky kind... go big or go home.

I just paid almost $400 for a low range torque wrench from Baum Tools to adjust my valves and other small low torque items. This thing is so cool but expensive and worth it.

BTW, SteveJ - (you've got the tool obsession right?) YOU GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE!! IT'S AWESOME!!!

I bought my impact socket at Ocean State Job Lot for $1.50 in the automotive clearance. It was a GM-style axal socket. I didn't care what it was - it was a 36mm deep socket 1/2" drive socket. Pep boys, napa and autozone all sell similar sockets for under $20.

Get the torque wrench at wall mart or sears, get the socket there too or try the McParts store near you.

If you want to go inexpensive, go the HF or eBay. You can get them for cheap.

I bought a CDI from this place. I believe that Snap-on uses the same wrench.

I bought a nice Snap-on one for something like $105 on ebay. If you get a used one this way, you should call your local Snap-on guy and get them to re-calibrate it.
