Look in the fuse panel for a blown fuse. If none are blown, make sure all fuses are in tight. squeeze together the metal clips to make sure they're tight.

If that stuff is all original and/or ancient, just replace all your fuses with new ones, its well worth it. Sand down the connections and blast with electrical contact cleaner, and bend the tabs together slightly to make a stronger connection.

If all is well, if you have a later model car, you should have 3 relays in a bracket right behind your battery. One is the horn, one is low beam, one is high beam. Nobody ever remembers which one is which. Just pull them out and see what quits working, and you'll know. Try putting the one from your horn into your high beam one, and see if high beams work. If so, that could be a good temp fix till you find a new relay.

Also, it might help to just smack around the bad relay and blast it with contact cleaner, and it may start working again.

We all know deer don't give a damn about horns, so that should be an OK sacrifice.

If known of those fix it, maybe its the switch.

i too did not have high beams on my 75 02. about a month ago i had starter troubles. as part of the troubleshooting i changed out ignition switch which required me to go into the steering column.

anyhow, i eventually returned the original ignition switch and reassembled the steering column back and found my horn wouldn't stop blasting. pulled the plugs on the horn, tried to reassemble the whole mess.

point is, now i have my high beams back and no horn, don't know what i did but thought i'd toss it out for consideration. i did not deal with anything other than this area and the starter motor, btw. did check my fuses, too.

hehe, i ONLY have full beam at the minute, while the flash facility on the sorks gone it does turn my full beam back to normal beam.. very odd!

so i did what youve all suggested already above checked the fuse (fine) then took out those three relays, cept theres only two on my car.. (hmm, smells a rat at this point). Once they were both out the electrics were as they were before they were taken out =/

i now forsee serious issues/ballache with my whole cars wiring me thinks :(
