Euro Light Question....

Hello Everyone....Got myself a pair of used Euro turn signal lights and tried installing them, but noticed that the light inself only has one contact rather than two for the constant light when the headlights are on and the turn signal light. What's going on here and how can I use these suckers?

Thanks....Dave.

The euro sidelights just have a single filament bulb for the indicator. Euro headlights have a small 4 watt bulb that runs when the lights are on - parking lights or city lights. You might be able to find some h4 relacement headlights that have a spot for the parking light bulb - I think Cibie have them. Then you could reroute the extra wire from the sidelights to the headlamps

not the flasher light, that remains as is. Just the parking light. So when you are driving with your parking lights on, your tail lights are illuminated and your headlights produce a very low glow that doesn't actually help your view of the road, but oncomming traffic can see you. Good at twighlight or in marginal weather.

1. drill out rivets on your old parking lights that hold the lens to the bulb housing; do the same for the Euro lights. Keep the little spacers that fall out; you'll need 'em later.

2. Go to hardware store with lens assy in hand and find some hollow brass rivets for replacement. You can use brass ferrules that are used when coupling plastic tubing to flare fittings over in the plumbing dept.

3. Cut brass ferrules to proper length, reinstall the spacers, then spread the straight end of the ferrule (put it on the back side) to rivet the USA lampholder bracket to the Euro lens assy.

4. Reinstall in car using original wire setup, but use stainless steel mounting screws to insure a good ground.

Cheers
