bare in mind that the 'SMALL" rear muffler is very loud,

and the No Longer Available LARGE rear muffler for big

bumper cars is quiet with a mellow purrr. You must weld on brackets

to the SMALL rear muffler to hang correctly on a big bumper car. But the

SMALL rear muffler is very light.

well i don't really have other exhausts to compare it to right now, but i like it a whole lot better than the shitty rattle crap stock exhaust that was on the car. looks a whole lot better than the single pipe coming out the side too

it seems almost as if it's louder from inside the car than outside, but i haven't really been able to hear it a lot from outside

i didn't have to modify the brackets that were already on the exhaust, but i want to add another hanger bracket location more forward to the car, because there are only 2 hangers which hold the rear portion and there's nothing to support it anywhere up from there (til the exhaust manifold bolted to head)

it also looks like the bent part of the center section might hit the rear subframe, but so far i haven't heard any knocking

then again i haven't hit any big bumps just yet

oh yea i still have to get a tii manifold cause my stock one is cracked and gross

but i'll wait just a little bit for that. hope it sounds even meaner after putting the tii manifold on :)

C.D.,

No welding required on the 74, however you are correct on the 75 & 76 as they are center exit vs. the exiting on the passenger side. Ran the small can for years until I just got tired of not being able to hear anything inside the car. Much happier with the Supersprint.

I'm in the same boat you are in. Mine didn't need any welding (74 car 4222580) but my ctr section where it goes up over the subframe does hit from time to time. I've done a lot of work on the car recently and have had the exhaust on and off a number of times which doesn't make things any better. I currently have to run a gerry-rigged strap from the rear up to the diff hangar. I'd LOVE another hangar just forward of the subframe to keep the center pipe up off the subframe. You'd be amazed at how much noise that makes. No matter what I do the ctr. pipe eventually ends up back resting on the the subframe. When I adjust it properly it makes a HUGE difference (much quieter)
