There is a BIG-OLD-SPRING inside your booster.

Take the booster challenge!!!

First, cut one open and see what is inside!

or even better

Take your booster off, place it on the ground, and shove the rod down as hard as you can. You'll see!

Harv, can I get a witness? You drove in my booster-less-beast.

You can't test drive without a booster with it still in the way. Trust me!!!!

Who, what, how?????????????

Well in a little bit I believe I'll be able to get my hands on one that I can cut up/modify. Till then how strong exactly is this spring? There was noticable difference between the stock and tii MC's today when I drove both with the booster disconnected. (Man am I going through brake fluid)

So if I chop up the booster, take out the rod, shorten it, fab a bracket with the 4-holes to mount to the brake box and the 2-holes for the MC I'll be good to go right?

What did you use to make yours adjustable? Thinking about cutting the rod, taking out some meat in the middle, threadding the ends and using a threaded pipe/something so it can be spaced out. (like how tie rods are adjusted) Thoughts on that?

Also any wittnesses on the alleged spring would be wonderful. Not that I don't believe you Norm... it's just that everyone else says the spring isn't that strong. Thanks for getting back though

The spring is NOT a "return" spring. It is to control the violent thrust of suction. I'm sure you've placed your hand over the carb at full throttle. Ouch!! Ever suck a rag or your shirt in your carb. There is a rubber suction cup inside and the spring is to control its movement. My adjuster was inside the booster. Please find somebody's old booster and cut it open.

Yes! I have seen it done and it seemed like the brakes worked fine and it didn't look like you were straining on the brakes or pulling on the wheel.

There is one small varriable. Your car is a coupe. And I wonder what the brake pedel force ratio is. I wonder if it's different than other BMW's of the time. The cs was a bit more up-scale.

Norm, what MC are you running? and I forgot what calipers you have. Early 6 series calipers?

I had fun in SAC and hope to see the cs again. It was tooooooo cooool.

So Norm's running no booster on a CS? With early 6 calipers?
