If it were me...

From the bolts that hold the subframe to the chasis - or the stays that go from the subframe to the chasis (running forward). I would find longer bolts, fabricate a spacer tube, and use a long section of black pipe (Home Depot) Drill two evenly spaced holes in the black pipe, drop the bolts in from above, slide spacer up, slide bolt through hole in black pipe, repeat on other side, and you can now raise your car up off the ground and set the two sections of pipe on jackstands. Use spacers to keep the pipe down from the rockers...

That's what I will do when I pull my rear end...

If the frame jacking points are in good condition- no rust in the rockers- I would start there. They do have jack stands with deep cutouts for unibody cars. If there is question about the integrity of the body, I would also back it up with a couple of stacked wheels/tires under the body, or try the bracket/black pipe method.

Either way, jack it up, set it on the stands and shake the shit out of it to be sure it is stable before you get under there.

Paul's right-

get a piece of 2x4, a foot or longer, and support the pinch welds under the rocker.

Safety freaks will want to cut a 1/2" by 1/2" channel into said 2x4 for more stability, and that's just a good idea, too...

Take a BFH and hit the base of the jack stands. This "sets" them. As SteveJ said it's not worth the risk. Never heard of the grooved 2x4 method but I like it a lot... a real lot, and I'll probably just do that and notch a 1/2-round section in the 2x4 for my black pipe. It's a tricky thing to do but regardless of how you do it really give your J-stands a whack with the BFH to make sure they are flat & set up properly.
