E28 5 Series Sunvisors in an 02?

Hey guys. I read on THIS forum that E28 5 series sunvisors are a direct bolt on for our 2002's. I was also informed these are hard plastic which is something I would be interested in. My 02 sunvisors are toast and this winter I plan on installing an all black headliner (after I find out where to purchase one). I figure if I can find a good used pair of visors in any color I could use some SEM vinyl dye and change the color to black. Of course finding an original set in black would be ideal. So here are my questions:

1. What year was the E28 5 series produced?

2. Anybody running these E28 visors OR something thats works and they are happy with?

3. Do E28 5 series visors have a mirror on the passenger side?

4. Anybody have any pictures of these visors in an 02 or the stock E28 5 series setup they could post? (I know we have multiple BMW owners on this board)

5. Anybody have a set for sale or know a good recycler that I could contact? I live in New York City and there are no pick-n-pulls in the concrete jungle.

My car: 1976 automatic, sunroof, Clardy A/C...

Thanks in advance to anybody who posts a response.

I e-mailed them at goliners@aol.com $99.99 with $12.45 shipping to NYC. They claim after Oct. 9th there will be a price increase. Funny how they want me to place the order the day I contact them. They claim they are pre-sewn and ready to install. The above price is for one in black. I always hated the white hedliner!!!

over the weekend. Send an e-mail to remind me!

They're black on both sides, and there's a mirror on the passenger's.

I know guys with parts cars that might be able to help if they're something you want.

You sure about that? They fit fine in my car...

I recall the first time I did the rebuild of my 2002. My dad has a 1974, and also had at that time a 1988 533i as well. One day, we yanked the sunvisors off the 5-series, and they were a direct bolt-on in my 2002.

the skinny area for the clip is ~1" further away from the hinge.

The E30 visors are nearly 2" shorter than the '02s, and the clip area is ~1" closer to the hinge.

I fitted a pair of E21 visors in my '76 years ago - they have a longer skinny section that covers above the mirror when they're turned down - nice feature. I had to pull them inboard away from the hinge a bit to get the clip spot to work.

There are a number of spray dye products out there to make them black on both sides:
