I bought one today and need to talk with someone who knows them. It is a 1981 in good shape and very clean. My brakes pull badly and the wheel alignment is strange. I also have a few other questions. I need a good E30 group i joined one on yahoo but it doesn't get many hits. i am driving it back to Wisconsin and i drove it from MAto NYC tonight and it drove well.

sounds like you need to inspect the brakes and have a front end alignment for starters

check out the steering linkage, and the condition of the front suspension bushings... they could cause some of these problems as well...

Dave, you should be looking for E21 groups, not E30. The E21's make great daily drivers.

rotten constricted brake hoses

air in brake system

seized caliper pistons

worn out brake pads

bent tie rod

bent center link

bent spindle / steering arm / rotten rusted strut

non matching front tires

nasty rear suspension bushings

....take your pick - don't drive a dangerous car.
