Al Larsen's Saddle Brown DIY Seat Covers

Folks:

I just wanted to post yet another story complimenting Al Larsen's great upholstery work. (If you haven't seen it, his website is www.seamsperfect.ca).

I have a 72tii with the saddle brown interior, and have always loved the look of the stock seats. Mine were shot, though, and since the car is a daily driver, I asked Al about making replacement covers that I would put on myself. He found some high quality MB vinyl that is a very close match for the brown of the door-panels, sewed the covers, and shipped them to me. He even made a brand new pattern from some 72 seats, just to make sure everything was perfect.

I've finally gotten the seats restuffed and the covers on, and am delighted. Picture below.

Just wanted to second all the recommendations of Al's work. If you like your old-school black and brown interior, you probably know how hard it is to find replacement seats that look right. I've now got my stockers back, in vinyl that feels like it will last at least another 30 years.
