I really really really miss the good old days "before" the year "2002", when searching on ebay for items "bmw 2002" "only" showed up the "real 2002" goodies we all love to search for!!!!

I am sick & tired of seeing all the "2002 BMW" crap clutter up the search engine!!!!

Has anyone figured out a way to get around this problem????

We need to conjure up a way to get around this lingering problem that will "never" really go away unless we make it go away!!!

I know, this isn't a real problem, but it's "really important" to we ebay junkies! Of course the bargains aren't out there the way they used to be either! :-)

I think I just answered my own question, at least partially...if you put quotes around the words like this, "bmw 2002" it filters out the reverse order...but I'm not sure that gets everything listed.

search "BMW 2002" with the qoutes and it knocks down 90% ot the other crap.

Try 197* BMW 2002. The wild card in the fourth place (an asterisk)

brings up 1971-1979. Then a space without a hyphen and the nomenclature of your obscure desire...ha ha...upper or lower case doesn't matter...then the Model. This seems to bring up just about everyting.

Here is the search that I use. I think esty posted it and it works great

bmw 2002* -m3 -e46 -e39 -z3 -e38 -x5 -x-series -3-series -5-series -7-series -m-series -z4 -mini

I put it into my ebay as a saved search.. Anything else you want to exclude just put a minus sign in front of the term

These work great for eBay, but I shipped my 02 recently and had to explain 5 times to 3 different people that "No, 2002 is the MODEL. It's a 1972 car." Shoulda just told them it was a tii or a Bavaria.

here my current rendition...02 etc search string

if you don't want anything 745LI related to come up in a search, add -745li to the search string in the search field and save it as a bookmark and delete your old one...same for the 325ci shifter....add -325ci to you search string.....no mas of either

I call up the ebay motors and type in bmw 2002 and then list 1966 to 1999 for a parts search

Your current one looks pretty sweet but I'd do 2002* rather than just 2002 so you get 2002tii listings too
