ill fitting front w/s gasket-where can i get a good one?

couple of years ago replaced the front windshield gasket. made the mistake of buying a replacement from ebay. along the top the gasket didn't wrap far enough in. looked to be about 3/4 inch short. eventually the seal became questionable so i figured that i'd buy from a reputable shop and ordered a replacement from bimmer parts co.

put it in tonight and it has the same fit. i am more than a little POed. Monday i will be calling them for a refund and to complain.

in the meantime anyone out there had this problem and found a source of gaskets that fit properly along the top?

would like to put in a properly fitting gasket.

thanks.

gaskets (insurance replacment) -- neither fit. I finally convinced him to get one from a dealer (Bimmer Parts, I think). It came with a BMW parts sticker on it and fit perfectly. Wonder if BMW is sourcing gaskets from Thailand now...

probably won't get the time this weekend. fairly certain i've got it in right. i've installed front and back at least twice in the past. i'm betting this is an aftermarket seal from thailand.

i'll be contacting blunt after i finish this post.

frustrating.

thanks all.

thanks to blunt for the quick ship of a replacement.

however, just to give an interesting (at least to me) update.

i had yet to get around to calling bimmer parts for a refund. i'm sitting at my desk at work and i get a call from them saying they saw my post and wanted to know what they could do to make it right.

now that's good service in my book!
