How to make AN hoses/fittings

Hi all,

I'm about to place my order for all the proper fittings that I need and I had a few questions. I have never made AN-type hoses before and Im wondering if there is anything I should know.

Do I need anything in particular to the fittings onto the hoses? Im sure a vice would help but anything else? Thanks as always

i havent used that tool but ive done them without it. this is how i did it and it worked well. tape up the braided line well where you are going to cut it. i used a fine cut off wheel to make straight cuts. make sure there are no loose snags of stainless. if there are i filed them away and assemble. its pretty basic as youll see once you start doing it. you may want to invest in a set of the aluminum wrenches made for tightening the fitting so you dont mar them up.

Wanna give me a little edjamication.... and tell me what exactly this is? Is it standard hose with braided steel over it as a "just incase" or is it thinner, lighter, stronger inner lining with SS hose for protection and strength? Sorry to be a dumbass and jack your thread. I googled & saw from the photo of the tool. Where do you use these hoses? Fuel? Coolant? gearbox/diff fluids?

TIA,
