Diff between a 73 from a 74 tii clock

mechanical and electrically wound (the clink you hear every few minutes is the solenoid winding the clock's spring), while a 74 tii clock is quartz (i.e. electronic)? Not sure if the faces are the same. The later ones say "VDO" and "quartz" on the face.

the VISIBLE differences are:

74 clock has the white lines on the faceplate similar to the speedo cluster.

the plastic surround is bigger and sort of frames the clock more.

the earlier clocks are same size as later ones.

Main difference is that the pre-'74tii clocks "can" be repaired without much trouble...the '74tii clock is quartz and cannot be easily repaired by a novice (like me)....if at all.

Remember Keinzle clocks were produced as early as on the Ti's, so they are not limited to '72/'73tii's! Ti clocks have a silver bezel.
