Lighting the heater control panel

Noticed that the passenger side heater control panel is lit (the one w/ the fan and temp control) while the driver side (on/off and defrost) is not. I pulled the underdash panels off and stuck my hand up in there but couldn't find a bulb.

Is the passenger side lit w/ ambient light from the pod panel? Doesn't seem like there would be that much light leaking.

perhaps the easies way would be to gently pry out the face plate. Then remove the 2 screws that hold the lever assembly. Pull that assembly out and you'll see a little bulb stuck into a black socket. I used mine to light the glove box instead since I have the controls for the heater down anyway.
