74 Tii in Virginia up for sale again...what's the deal?

This car sat on a Toyota Dealer lot for over a year in Fredericksburg VA. The car is now listed on eBay. Does anybody know the story. Ebay item 250033165970

I recall someone asking about this car several months ago. Someone on the board wanted it looked at and I was going to check it out for him and then he said never mind because it is not a real tii. In other words the vin didn't match the tii vins

Yes, I started a concurrent thread on this car in the Cars section, seems this car was at the Toyotoa dealer and the price dropped from $14K all the way down to $8K, and now three months later it's up for sale. The VIN doesn't match a tii? According to my info, VIN #278023 is a '74 tii built in late '73....someone go look at this thing! I'll throw in $10 for gas!

Not to be anal, but according to the Ebay details, the VIN is actually 2780203. Not much of a difference really. It only pushes the production date back a month or so.

yep, so if it is 0203, then it was probably made in jan or feb. of '74. my tii is 2780168 and was made in mid. jan. of 74.
