My 2002 story for today

I was at a bicycle team function the other day. (Landis' coach Robbie Ventura) The guy who put it on is a race car buff, so I asked him if he ever raced any BMW's. Oh sure he said, I raced 2002's and 3.0's with Hans Stuck in vintage and road races! He drove on a team with BMW in a 3.0 batmobile.

At the same funtion the guy who I bought my 2002 from 3 years ago walks in from his home in Bermuda!!! He had come in on vaction and was in the area. He was glad the car looked so good and he was talking about how much time he spent looking for the right one to restore. When you live in Bermuda no importation of used cars is permitted so I got his.

Also the bike shop owner had just purchased in a charity auction a set of 7 signed Lance Armstrong yellow jerseys from each Tour he had won. It was on display as well.

COOL!!!

75 2002: weber, ANSA, lowered, 14" wheels, new engine, new suspension, rust free & square.

Bikes and BMWs- they just seem to go together.

I was at a wheelbuilding class with Ric Hjertberg(Wheelsmith). He had a Vixen motorhome in the driveway. He said he had a tough time getting the BMW parts as the dealer had no clue as to what a Vixen was. I gave him all kinds of contact info for the BMW world and we talked cars for a while.
