It kinda looks like maybe the forum has reverted to using GD rather than ImageMagick?

There are two methods for processing images used on this place. It defaults to GD which doesn't resize very well for some reason. The other is called ImageMagick --which is far superior

you have to constrain the proportion. example, whatever image program you use to resize the picture you have to scale the image evenly. if you have an image that is 800x600 you want to shrink it equally like 700x500, 600x400...or what ever size you need to get it down to. make sense kinda? photoshop has a "constrain proportion" checkbox in the image size dialod box.
