What is this "tii exhaust manifold?" It looks odd

It's not a tii manifold because it isn't shaped anywhere near the same and it has four studs on the exit flange, ours have only three.

Got to be from some other four cyl BMW

haha i love how it fits turbo 02s too... FYI that piece will NOT work on 02s, since the downpipe and steering dealie on passy side try to take the same spot/s...

why black? isnt the point to retain the heat not shed it into engine room?

Well I'm not sure that silver or some other color is going to make much difference in engine bay heat. I use the 318 (or whatever it is from) combination heat shield/exhaust gasket, so that keeps the heat from the plug wires. Otherwise no worries.
