Proof of a car with red leather

Here is proof of a car with red leather. This is a car that I bought in the late 1980s and the interior was in perfect condition. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures of just the interior, but you get the idea from these pictures. I bought the car from the original owner and had the window sticker, so I now it was the original interior. Of the 02s I have owned, this is the one I wish I would have kept.

Was around 1992 or so-one of the first fests at Indian Well state park.

A kid around my age with blond/sandy hair owned it and it had those panasports on it. I dont remember where he was from...

I was a newbie at the time but remember the car and probably have some photos of it somewhere.

I remember talking to him and he said it was factory leather which surprised me.

event last night when I was looking for the pictures I posted, and I only had one picture with my car in it. But it was fun to look back at those pictures. It is hard to believe that was 15+ years ago. I also found the name of the person in Atlanta that I sold the car to. I should call them and see if they still have it.

body shop couldn't find the code for Polaris for some reason, so they painted it Bronzit (a newer BMW color) without even telling me. That kind of pissed me off, but I didn't make a big deal about it, because it turned out great. The door panels were also a matching red color.

pissed off to no end if a body shop painted my car a color I didn't specify. Maybe I'm anal about this type of thing, but even if it turned out to be a mirror finish, I'd be flipping my wig.

I admire you for having a happy attitude about the paint job. And you're right, the car does look great.

I read somewhere (might have even been here) about a series of "Final Edition" 1976 2002's made for the U.S. market.

IIRC they were all either Schwarz or Polaris with red leather interiors. However, I seem to recall reading that they all had sunroofs....

My dad's very first BMW which was a 1985 318i two door had the exact same colored interior. I can still smell the inside. I swear, all 3 series from the 80's smell the exact same inside, no matter if you are in the U.S. or Australia! They all smell the same! Karl has 318 seats and if you notice, 02ers have their own smell but those seats still smell like, and you guessed it, a 318!

"My dad was right, it was cheaper just to buy a new car."

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
