ON the ginition switch

I've re-wired the whole car and everything is correct except the ignition process. Whenever I turn the key to start the car, in addition to the starter turning over, the wipers come on. This is a 72 so the wiper control is rt side steering col mount. It is my understanding that in starting a car there is a relay or a process which locks out certain other lower draw electrical items to put more power to the starter. Once I start the car, with the wipers running, I can then turn them off properly. Ideas?

You have to turn them off? Or do they stop after they cycle after you start the car? Sounds like you have the starter signal voltage going to the wiper switch. I would get itn there with a test light and see what's going on when you twist the key. Remove the little wire from the starter so you can simulate the starter running without the starter actually going.
