My Car is Funky!

More on my steering wheel topic. I have found the culperate for the continuous blown number 6 fuse (horn and turn signals). It seems as though when I put Karl into reverse and my revs go slightly above 20, the fuse blows. The strange things is, I'm not using my brakes and as far as I know, that would assist in the matter! I haven't noticed if my revs go down after the fuse blows, however, when this happens, the radio cuts out briefly and so do the headlights if I have them on. They come back on in about two seconds, no problems.

This is not only frusterating as I was pretty sure I had sorted out this situation with an unknown wire in the steering wheel which was removed on the weekend, but it is also dangerous and I am only counting down until someone rear-ends me. Anybody else ever had a problem as stupid as this? I tell you what, I wish I never removed my stock steering wheel! This wasn't happening until I did!!!

I have had over years of 02 ownership.

What was causing my fuse to blow, was when I placed the car in reverse and went to accelerate to back up, a worn wire from the reverse light switch would create a dead short to the body as the motor would torque a bit.

For what it is wurth

Thanks!! I'm going to check it as soon as college is finished today! You're probably right as I just changed my reverse lights, so could be something there.

Can't wait to get this sorted!
