A/C wiring question

When I got my tii back from being rebuilt, I was told that the A/C was not working, probably due to the relay on the passenger fender. I know it worked before I bought the car as I have receipts from the PO showing that he spent $$$ on it.

Here are my questions:

How do I troubleshoot the relay?

What I can tell you is that I've got a Bosch 0 332 019 150 relay which has 5 connectors: 30 - 85 - 86 - 87 - 87. There is also a modern fuse which looks good electrically taped to 2 of the red wires.

Where do I start checking things with a meter? I'd like to get this going this weekend if at all possible. Does anyone have a schematic in pdf form?

As always, thanks in advance for your help.

The relay on the fender well is for control of the auxillary fan. You might have a blown fuse or loose connection somewhere. I sent you an e-mail with my e-mail address if you want me to send a couple of manual pages from my Clardy A/C installation manual in .pdf form.

I've got a digital multimeter but I'm not sure how to check if relay is good or not. How about the wires leading up to the relay?

I'm an IT guy, and understand the basics of electricity, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for when troubleshooting.

Thanks again in advance.

check the power going out at 87 w/ switch on.You can check the item w/o depending on the relay by running a jumper wire from the battery to the item postive connection. And alway check the ground side if the item doenst work.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Keith Kreeger, you can find the Behr manuals at http://www.thetiiregister.com/behrac/index.htm

Some items to check before you start troubleshooting:

1. Does the A/C fan in the console run?

2. Does the compressor clutch operate?

3. Does the auxiliary fan run?

Do you have Behr, Clardy, Frigiking, or other?
