I was under the impression that two turbos on a 4 cyclinder is pointless. Weird harmonics and no gain. Why 2?

I second Nick in that twin turbos on a 4-cyl is completely pointless. The only argument you could bring up is the misubishi V-4 motors and the ONLY reason why they run twin turbos is because of plumbing logistics.

Run one appropriate turbo and you will not be dissapointed. Unless the FACTORY manifold is split up, like on a V-4,6,8,10,12 motor OR if the factory manifold is split up like some I-6 (inline 6) motors, it's completely worthless. Smaller turbos wind up quicker. Larger usually have more lag. Do some research. There was a thread recently (PSloan? i think) that was talking about minimizing back pressure and choosing appropriate exhaust systems so the turbo can spool quickly. Unless you have money burning a hole in your wallet or if you're looking for the [/i]*WOW* factor don't bother.

One turbo can push 300 to the wheels if you do it right AND one turbo can be installed with one intercooler, wastegate, intake, etc. The plumbing will look simple, clean and worthy of the 2002.

in sequence meaning progressive? like when one peaks the other kicks in? so you could have better low rpm boost and high rpm boost?

i'd still think for the time and money involved it would still be best to install one large turbo done right....

surfing round and read what you guys told and im shure for now that is pointless indeed:P but anyone know any kits to the 2002 engine or its just by loose parts and humle it together?

found an special turbo that starts charging at 1500rpm instead of 4000rmp thats like an diesel ...

but im of first to get my new(er) 2002 home ,its about 140miles from me and its gona take a while to drive it home and begin to plan the progress ,i ordered the maximum boost book yesterday so i hope the book helps alot in the building !

If you need to ask if its been done, you dont have the knowledge to do it. Maybe you could just pay a ton and have a shop do it for you. Turbos arent that complicated and with some general research you will have a lot better idea of what you are doing.

If you really want to go down that road I would start by converting over to a stand alone fuel injection system with igntion control. After you have that setup and working in your car you can go from there....
